Woman Hit By Pickup In Rural Cedar Falls Dies

One of two people who were struck by a vehicle in rural Cedar Falls, has now died from her injuries.

Kristine Martinson, 52, of rural Cedar Falls, had been walking with some family members in the traveled portion of Mark Road, northwest of Cedar Falls, at around 9 PM Tuesday (June 19, 2018). Martinson's family lives in the area.

According to Black Hawk County sheriff's officials, a pickup driven by Tanner Bodecker, 22, of Cedar Falls, crested a hill and hit Martinson. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died.

Martinson's daughter, Annaleise, was struck by the pickup's mirror. She sustained minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation by sheriff's officials, who were assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Cedar Falls Police, and Cedar Falls Fire Rescue.
