Where Can You Go Line Dancing in Eastern Iowa? [LIST]
Thanks to social media, line dancing is becoming more and more popular. I see at least one line dancing video pop up in my feed every single day! Since the style of dance is growing, I decided to do some research on places you can learn to line dance here in the Corridor. There aren't many, but you do have a few options! Here are four places that offer weekly line dancing:
Hazzard County - 402 2nd Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids
Hazzard County in Downtown Cedar Rapids has line dancing lessons with Jamie every Friday night from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free and limited to ages 21 and up.
DanceMor Ballroom - 77 2nd Street SE, Swisher
The legendary DanceMor Ballroom in Swisher hosts line dancing every Wednesday night starting at 6:30 p.m. Group instruction begins at 7 p.m. All ages are welcome and it costs $5 per person.
Giddy Up - 118 S Clinton Street, Iowa City
Giddy Up is a brand new country bar in Iowa City that will begin hosting line dancing on "Boot Scootin’ Sundays" beginning February 25th. Shut Up and Dance with Jamie will be instructing. The time of the event has yet to be confirmed.
Wildwood Saloon - 4919 Walleye Dr SE, Iowa City
Wildwood Saloon in Iowa City hosts line dancing with DJ Kountry every Thursday night starting at 6:30. Admission is free.
Outside of the Corridor, another place that offers line dancing is Walcott Coliseum at 116 E Bryant Street in Walcott. They host line dancing on Friday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It's $1 to get in, there is a bar with drinks for purchase, and attendees can bring their own snacks.
You can also check out Deringer's Public Parlor at 314 1/2 Main Street in Cedar Falls. They host line dancing on Thursday nights with Ryan beginning at 7 p.m. It's $5 per person and you must be 21 or older to get in.
