Waterloo Woman Hurt In Single-Vehicle Accident
A Waterloo woman was injured Tuesday in a single-vehicle accident east of the city.
According to Black Hawk County sheriff's officials, 38-year-old Peleiupu Robert crossed the center line of Dubuque Road and entered a ditch. Robert told authorities that she felt ill, then lost control of the vehicle.
The woman's husband, Kenny Robert, was riding in the passenger seat. Officials said he attempted to take control of the steering wheel as the vehicle crossed the center line, but was unable to keep the crash from happening.
Kenny Robert wasn't hurt in the accident, but Peleiupu Robert suffered minor injuries. Authorities said she transported to a Waterloo hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition.
Tuesday's accident happened around 7:30 AM near the intersection of County Road V-51/South Canfield Road.
