Waterloo Police Searching For Armed Robbery Suspect
Waterloo police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store at gunpoint early Wednesday (July 26, 2017).
Officers responded to an alarm at Yesway, 1976 Franklin St., just before 1 a.m. Upon arrival, they learned that the store had been robbed by a suspect armed with a handgun. According to police, the bandit threatened to kill the clerk if he didn't hand over money from the cash register.
Waterloo police said the clerk wasn't injured during the hold-up, and the suspect fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as a white male in his twenties, about 5-foot, 10-inches tall and 150 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a navy-colored hooded sweatshirt with a Nike swoosh in the upper left corner.
