Waterloo Police Probing Early Morning Murder

Waterloo police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place early Sunday morning (Jan. 22, 2017).

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 700 block of Logan Ave. shortly after 5 a.m. When they arrived at the scene, police discovered a 55-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said the victim was transported to UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo, where he died from the gunshot wounds. Officials have not yet released the man's name.

Authorities confirmed they are treating the case as a murder investigation.
