Waterloo Man Killed In Humboldt County Accident
A Waterloo man was killed when his car collided with a tractor in west-central Iowa Friday afternoon (May 20, 2016).
According to Iowa State Patrol, Thomas Griffin, 37, was driving in Humboldt County when he attempted to pass another vehicle and collided head-on with a tractor coming the opposite direction. The accident caused the tractor to rollover.
State troopers said Griffin was pronounced dead at the scene, while the tractor's driver -- Aaron Orwig, 37, of Rolfe -- received minor injuries. Rolfe was taken to a hospital in Humboldt to receive treatment.
Friday's accident happened shortly after noon on County Road C-49 about six miles southwest of Humboldt.
