Waterloo Man Charged In Multi-State Stolen Property Investigation
A Waterloo man is facing charges connected to a multi-state investigation into the alleged theft of stolen property from auction sites.
Black Hawk County sheriff's deputies recently arrested Paul Block, Jr., 48, of 3215 Doris Lane, on a charge of first-degree possession of stolen property. Local officials said authorities in Wisconsin have also filed a warrant for Block and charges from other states and jurisdictions are also expected.
Sheriff's officials said Block was taken into custody after deputies executed a search warrant at his home on April 28, 2017. As part of the investigation, authorities spent several days seizing and removing stolen property from home, which is in a rural area of the city south of Raymond.
According to Black Hawk County investigators, the case involves large volumes of property being illegally obtained from auction sites in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
