WATCH: Hero Granny Catches Baby Falling From Building
64-year-old Svetlana Sanarova was walking home from a supermarket in Novokuznetsk, Russia, when out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a toddler dangling from a second floor window.
Svetlana went into mom mode, dropping her bags and rushing under the window and held her arms out.
CCTV footage showed that Svetlana got there just in time, because the toddler lost its grip and fell.
“I thought, if I didn’t catch him, he would crash before my eyes,” said Sanarova, according to East2West news service. “I needed to run and catch, or it would be much worse. He turned out to be rather heavy, but I did not think about the risk at that moment.”
The toddler, Egor, was okay, and his father was rushing down the stairs to get him.
Svetlana didn't give her name, and went on with her day. It took days for six days for her to be identified, after being honored by authorities after many posts on social media.
The father, Dmitry, thought his wife was looking after Egor, but she was grabbing a bottle for another kid. The couple are parents of a 4-year-old and two 18-month-old twins, a girl and Egor.
“I didn’t think about any risk. I was only afraid that he would die,” she told Ruptly news agency. “And then I worried about what happened to him, until I read in the newspaper that he got away with only minor bruises.”
