The two big Iowa teams will be going toe-to-toe on September 11th in their highly anticipated matchup.

Something else that's been highly anticipated is the "Iowa Wave." Each home game the crowds at the University of Iowa turn and wave to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital and all of the people in it.

This all started at the 2017 season opener when 70,000 Hawkeye fans turned and waved to those residents and workers at the end of the first quarter. The wave quickly grew in popularity and became one of the best new traditions in college sports.

It became such a national phenomenon that Disney even decided to recognize the University of Iowa. Iowa accepted the Disney Spirit Award in 2017 for the iconic wave.

This year's season opener was extra special due to the strange nature of 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic. You can watch a clip of the most recent Iowa wave down below!
