An eastern Iowa woman has been hospitalized, with serious injuries she sustained in a traffic accident in Linn County.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene of the crash on Covington Road, south of Palo, around 3 PM Thursday (May 9, 2019).

Authorities said a vehicle driven by Victoria Felt, 36, of Vinton, was southbound when she crossed the center line and collided with a northbound vehicle driven by Joseph Armstrong, 56, of Urbana. According to sheriff's officials, Felt sustained very serious injuries. She was taken to University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City by LifeGuard Air Ambulance.

Amstrong and three passengers in his vehicle were treated for minor injuries at a Cedar Rapids hospital. The passengers were identified as: 52-year-old Lynda Armstrong; 17-year-old Conner Armstrong; and 15-year-old Ryker Armstrong, all of Urbana.

All of the vehicle occupants were wearing seat belts.

The accident remains under investigation by Linn County sheriff's officials and the Iowa State Patrol.
