UPDATE: Names Released In Deadly Clayton County Accident
A Jesup man has been identified as the victim in a deadly accident that injured three other people in Clayton County over the weekend.
Sheriff's officials said James Everett, 57, was killed when his motorcycle collided with a sport utility vehicle on Iowa Highway 13 northeast of Elkader Saturday afternoon (June 23, 2018). Everett was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities identified the SUV's driver as Joan Fish, 61, of Luana. She was transported to a Prairie du Chien, Wis., hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Officials said two people on a second motorcycle were also hurt in the crash. Jacob Moran, 26, and his passenger, Dystany Moran, 25, both of Independence, suffered critical injuries and were flown to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City to be treated.
Clayton County sheriff's officials continue to investigate the mishap, which occurred just before 4:30 PM Saturday near the 215th St. interchange.
