Earlier this week it was reported the city of Cedar Falls was considering suspending charging for parking in its municipal lots until early spring. After a vote by the city council, they've elected to do just that.

According to a press release, the Cedar Falls City Council voted to temporarily halt collecting paid parking fees in the municipal lots, located in the Downtown and College Hill areas, until April 1, 2021. This is designed to help ease the financial burden businesses may be experiencing due to COVID-19, but it will also encourage patrons to shop and spend more time in and around area businesses this holiday season.

Press release received via Amanda Huisman, City of Cedar Falls Communications Specialist.
