The University of Iowa announced Tuesday that the Iowa Hawkeye football program will not hold it's annual Spring Practice/Game in April. This is mainly because of repairs that are needed to the field turf at Kinnick and the field drainage system.

The field turf replacement and drainage repair will take place late this spring and into the early summer months. Construction will begin as soon as the weather allows. The project is being done as a result of flooding in and around the stadium last summer.

Instead of the spring game, a Meet the Hawkeyes event was announced yesterday as well. It will be an autograph session held in conjunction with Iowa baseball. It will feature a spring practice Hawk Talk with head coach Kirk Ferentz and radio play by play announcer Gary Dolphin. The autograph session with select players will take place on April 20th as Iowa hosts Nebraska. The Hawk Talk will take place at the VUE rooftop at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Iowa City.

Iowa football spring practice gets underway starting today and concludes with the 15th allowable practice on April 26th.
