Two Northeast Iowa Residents Die in Wisconsin Accident

Two northeast Iowa residents have died in a one-vehicle accident in southwest Wisconsin.

Authorities identified the victims as 50-year-old George McNeese of Oran and 42-year-old Kristen Stratman of McGregor.

Officials said McNeese, who also was listed as being from Independence, was killed when the car he was driving went off a curve and collided with tree. Stratman was a passenger in the vehicle. Both were ejected and died at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation, but Grant County sheriff's officials said speed appeared to be a factor in the crash.

The mishap occurred shortly after 2:30 AM Sunday in the town of Wingville, which is near Montfort.
