Two recreational facilities have been temporarily shutdown in Cedar Falls.

City officials have confirmed an employee at the Cedar Falls Recreation and Fitness Center has tested positive for COVID-19. They said another employee at the Falls Aquatic Center also tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to city officials, both facilities are currently closed for deep cleaning. The shutdown is in accordance with city policy and CDC recommendations.

City officials have not announced a reopening date for either facility.

Update: Please note, the Rec and the Falls are now both currently closed for COVID-19 cleaning. Reopening information will be announced in the future.
