Tupac Shakur Arrested For Baseball Bat Assault In Florida
A woman named Tupac Amaru Shakur had to face a judge Wednesday after police arrested and charged her for an assault that happened outside of a Miami area hospital.
Tupac Shakur was arrested Tuesday evening by police in Hialeah, Florida, just northeast of Miami by a couple of miles.
According to an arrest affidavit, the 34-year-old woman struck the male victim several times with a baseball bat while he was sitting outside of Hialeah Hospital at 651 E. 25th Street around 11:30am on Tuesday.
Officers say the man sustained injuries to the right side of his face, his upper lip, right forearm, right hand, and right leg in the attack.
The report reads that the man was able to get Shakur's bat away and he then ran inside the hospital for help. Officers say it was then that Tupac Shakur went inside of the hospital and told employees that she was the one being attacked with a bat.
Tupac's victim said he knew her and recognized her from "several incidents" at Hialeah Hospital and said she's a homeless woman who sleeps near the hospital. He refused treatment from fire rescue crews and refused to go to the hospital, police wrote.
Police said after reviewing CCTV footage, they found Tupac Shakur near East Third Avenue and 33rd Street and arrested her, just under a mile away from the hospital, and took her into custody.
Shakur reportedly told officers that she was "investigating an incident that occurred at the library in downtown.”
The arresting officers took Shakur to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. She faces a charge of aggravated battery on a person 65 or older, a first-degree felony.
Ironically, she appeared in front of a judge on Wednesday, the 26th anniversary of the original Tupac Amaru Shakur.
He was shot in Las Vegas on Sept. 7th, 1996 and died six days later. No arrests were made in connection to his death.
