Perhaps no two words get sports junkies more excited than 'Top Golf.' Well Iowa, get ready because the company just released new, detailed plans for its proposed Iowa location.

West Des Moines' new Community and Economic Development Director Ryan Moffatt told the Des Moines Register that "Top Golf represents one of the businesses we hear most about from the public." Lucky for Iowans that Top Golf Entertainment is planning to build a high-tech driving range just west of the Jordan Creek Town Center. Moffatt told the Register that his office has received plans on what the new facility would look like.

The Iowa Top Golf facility in Des Moines would feature a multi-story driving range with 72 climate-controlled hitting bays. There would be plenty of food and drink options, big-screen TVs, and music. The official location would be at the corner of Jordan Creek Parkway and Mills Civic Parkway in West Des Moines. It's one of the largest shopping and entertainment areas in the metro, according to the Register.

When Top Golf announces it's coming to town, other golf entertainment companies take notice. With the announcement of the Des Moines project, a similar project in Johnston, Iowa has announced updated plans. The Register reports that Bombers Golf and Hotel along Merle Hay Road broke ground in April. It will feature a 60-bay golf facility and an 80-room hotel. Developers confirm they plan to add more entertainment options to compete with Top Golf.

The Register reports that the Des Moines Top Golf facility could break ground later this year and open in late 2024.
