The spring and summer of 2020 was one like none other. The on-going battle with COVID-19 has been stressful (to say the least) for everyone. On top of that, travel restrictions and closed tourist attractions have made it next to impossible to plan any sort of vacation. However, there is one vacation getaway that has become popular as a "covid-friendly" activity.

Eastern Iowa is home to many beautiful historic homes turned into popular "Bed & Breakfasts". It's a great way to "get away from it all" and see some small towns in Iowa that you may have never visited. You don't have to worry about big crowds and social distancing and everything else we deal with on a daily basis. It can be just you and your honey on a romantic get-a-way or you can bring along the kids and share a piece of history with them. Most owners have made some small changes to accommodate the times we live in. For instance, some are not serving food or refreshments in common areas, along with "touchless" check-in and check-out, or providing information to guests over the phone.

There are many, many deserving "B&B's in the area, that we'll explore in the future, but let's get started with a virtual tour of the Top 5 “Gotta See” Bed & Breakfasts Within Driving Distance of our radio station's listening area. (scroll down)
