The Oelwein Police Department reports the recent arrests and citing of three young Oelwein adults, all 19 years old, in separate, unrelated incidents.


The latest happened at about 6:45pm Tuesday (June 22), in the 700 block of 8th Street SE in Oelwein. Officers were called to the scene for an alleged physical altercation. After the investigation, they arrested 19 year old Jayden Heidt on charges of Assault, and Disorderly Conduct.

Early Friday afternoon, police pulled over a vehicle at 10th Street SE, on Outer Road. The driver, Jerry Swaggerty III, was cited for Driving While his License is Suspended, and Not Wearing a Seatbelt. A passenger was also cited for no seatbelt.

And early Friday morning, Oelwein Police were called to the 200 block of 8th Avenue SE, to help another agency with a suspect who was disorderly, and had assaulted several people. Madison Walker was taken into custody on charges of Criminal Mischief 5th Degree, Public Intoxication, Interference with Official Acts, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, and 4 Counts of Assault on Persons Engaged in Certain Occupations.
