THIS Company Has Banned All April Fools Jokes
April Fools' Day is upon us! A day for lighthearted (hopefully) pranks. That means pretty much every company feels like they have to roll out some prank, right? The best case scenario is that the prank is good, or even kind of lame while worst case is that it becomes a PR nightmare. Yep. Seems to happen every year.
That is why Microsoft just took a stand and BANNED anyone in the company from pulling an April Fools' prank this year according to Gizmodo. This makes them the largest company in America to openly announce they're not allowed.
Their marketing chief wrote in a memo, quote, 'Data tells us these stunts have limited positive impact and can actually result in unwanted news cycles, we have more to lose than gain by attempting to be funny on this one day.'
And he's not wrong. A few April Fools' Days ago, Google added a GIF of a Minion dropping the mic to everyone's Gmail, and it backfired so badly it even got some people FIRED from their jobs.
Wanna prank someone at Microsoft? Just come to work with a Macbook. That outta do it.
