Truck Thieves Took Selfies With The Owner’s Phone
If you're dumb enough to steal someone's vehicle, at least don't be dumb enough to make the crime easy to solve by taking pictures of yourself with the car owner's phone.
According to the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office in Georgia, a few teenagers decided to steal a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado with all of its contents inside.
While joyriding in the stolen truck, the teenagers found a phone, and immediately began taking selfies. You know, of their faces.
What they failed to realize was that their photos were set to automatically upload to the owner's Google Photos account.
After a little bit of time, the owner saw the photos uploading and contacted the police. Obviously, it doesn't take long to identify someone you have a clear picture of.
The group was arrested the very next day while driving a different stolen vehicle.
"Due to the subjects being juveniles under the age of 17 their faces have been blurred," the Facebook post by the sheriff's office reads.
According to their reports, the original stolen truck has yet to be found.
