The Simpsons Featured ‘Osaka Flu Outbreak’ in 1993

In the 21st episode of the show’s fourth season, "Marge In Chains," the residents of Springfield become ill with 'Osaka Flu' and people are now noticing a similarity with the coronavirus pandemic.

The episode centers around the residents and their addiction to juicing, and they order fancy blenders. But workers in Japan, who are assembling the blenders, get sick and spread disease, followed by mass hysteria in Springfield.
