Once again, it's me, I'm the Iowa moron. I can't even call this a stretch of bad luck, I'm just dumb sometimes. If you have zero clue what I'm talking about, last week on June 2nd, I talked about how I accidentally set my lawn on fire in my back yard. Well, this past weekend I set my back on fire. Not literally, but close enough.

It all started when my fiance's co-worker invited us out to hang out on lake McBride. It was a bit of a car ride for us but it was a Sunday and we had nothing better to do. We pack up our cooler, towels, and water, then we hit the road.

When we met up with her co-worker, she and her boyfriend took us to this "hidden beach" spot. It was about a 5-minute walk to get there but once we got there we were set. There were all kinds of people who pulled their boats up to the shore, there was music playing, kids were playing in the water, and everyone was laughing and smiling, it was a great time. The sun was out and we were living our best life. Except there was one problem that I didn't realize until much later. I put sunscreen on my entire body except for my back! The entire thing was straight-up cooked when I got home. I was wondering if I had blisters or not. Thankfully that didn't happen.

My entire body felt fine all day until the second we sat down in the car to head home. I couldn't lean back on my chair. Now you might be thinking I'm kind of a wuss, which is true, but at the same time, having your entire back absolutely fried is terrible. It's one thing if your arms or parts of your shoulders hurt but your entire back... I could hardly walk into work and around the house the next day. Any kind of movement and I would instantly feel the sting you get front being sunburnt.

How does someone forget to put sunscreen on one of the most exposed parts of their body to the sun? How did I just simply forget this part? Your answer is as good as mine. Every other part of my body was covered in sunscreen and felt just fine when we were leaving the lake.

It's almost like I'm unlucky or something. In situations like this, I always remember this clip from one of my favorite TV shows.

Side note - There was this really cute dog named Muffin that kept walking up to us and wanting to sit down. We didn't even have any food for her, she was just looking for people to pet her. My fiance has already brought home a bunch of cats without telling me. Here's hoping I don't have an English bulldog in my backyard when I get home.
