Remember the hot guitarist, Spider, from the rival band in the cinematic gold that was School of Rock?

You might remember him as the guy who wore the shirt with only sleeves that hit on Joan Cusack's character, Principal Mullins, at the Battle of the Bands.

It was just recently that everyone found out that Lucas Babin, or Spider, has been working as a District Attorney in Texas since 2018.

After School of Rock, Babin starred in a Brazillian telenovela, then went on to make an appearance in music videos for Paris Hilton and Alanis Morissette, but it seemed as though he was always destined for some sort of public office.

In September of 2020, Babin's office made headlines when a grand jury in his county indicted Netflix for promoting "lewd exhibition of a child" in its 2020 film “Cuties.” He himself referenced part of the Texas penal code, saying that the company promoted visual materials of a child's genitals or pubic area.

If you recall, Netflix came out and said the movie was created as a form of “social commentary against the sexualization of young children.” Babin said the film didn't have "the artistic merit for such an issue."

He would know, he starred in one of the greatest pieces of cinematic art, possibly the greatest of all time.

Babin told the Tyler County Booster that the indictment was due to his ongoing commitment to cases with underage victims of crimes of a sexual nature.

Spider's come a long way since the Battle of the Bands.
