A Northeast Iowa teacher has been arrested for allegedly instructing a high school class while drunk.

On Monday (April 9, 2018), Fayette County sheriff's officials received a report from the administration of West Central High School in Maynard, that one of their teachers appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

A responding deputy arrested Daniel Reisner, 49, of Sumner, after it was determined that he had been teaching students while while intoxicated.

Reisner was taken to the Fayette County jail, on a charge of first-offense public intoxication.

According to sources, Reisner has been suspended from teaching.
