An accident involving 2 semi trucks closed down part of Interstate 380 for a couple of hours Monday night (Feb. 5, 2018).

Buchanan County sheriff's officials were alerted about the accident near the Brandon exit, just before 7 PM. A southbound semi had left the road, crossed the median, and collided with a northbound semi in the opposite lanes, authorities said.

One of the drivers was injured; he was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. No names have been released.

One of the semi trailer trucks had stopped across both southbound lanes. The interstate was closed for about two hours until the accident scene could be cleared.
