Semi Rolls Over In Black Hawk County

A semi driver was injured in a single-vehicle rollover accident in eastern Black Hawk County.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Independence Ave. and Holgate Road Friday, shortly after 5 AM.

According to sheriff’s officials, a preliminary investigation revealed that Dominic Graves lost control of the semi while traveling eastbound on Independence Ave (County Road D-20), northwest of Jesup. The semi went through the curved intersection and flipped over on the driver’s side.

Sheriff’s officials said Graves sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a Waterloo hospital for treatment.
