Sammy Hagar has released a clip from new track “Trust Fund Baby,” which will appear on Space Between, the upcoming album with his band the Circle.

“Here is a taste of the first song,” he said in his Instagram post. “[P]lay it on whatever system suits you and crank it up, it fucking rocks like the rest of the album!”

You can listen to the clip below:

Hagar formed the Circle with former Van Halen and Chickenfoot colleague Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson. Confirming the LP’s title last year, he also said it was likely to be his final release. “That’s my bucket list: to have one more credible musical experience in my life,” he explained. “I think I did it, and I hope it’s as good as I think it is. I’ve been double-parked in the rock 'n' roll business for 40 years, and I want a stamp on my validation so I don’t have to pay to get out.”

He described Space Between as an exploration of greed, an attempt to address what he felt to be a common misunderstanding about the deadly sin. “It’s about the misconception that money is the root of all evil, because the truth of the matter is, that it isn’t money at all," he said. "You can feed the poor, you can heal the sick, you can make people happy, you can stop a war with money, but it’s greed that is the problem.”

In an interview with UCR last October, he said the album would “hold up” musically, adding: “Jason Bonham is the greatest rock drummer in the world and plays just like his dad. So, on this record, we’ve got that Led Zeppelin sound and feel.” He called Anthony “as good a rock bass player as anyone ever in the history of rock” and said of Johnson: “when he plays on this record, he’s bringing it all there.”

Release details are expected in the near future.
