Rookie Cop’s First Arrest Was Man Crapping in Front of Church
I imagine for any police officer, the first arrest is something they will never forget - especially if it's something hilarious.
Officer Jonathan Garcia's first day on the job with the Riverview Police Department began with a call reporting a man pooping in front of a sign.
Neighbors snapped photos for evidence of the man dooking it.
"I don’t think anyone will forget it," Officer Garcia told Fox 2. "We got a call from a few passersby about a white male, in front of the church there on Pennsylvania. They said he was pooping right in front of the sign there."
Garcia went to investigate, and said the evidence was right there on the sidewalk.
"It was definitely not an animal. It was definitely human in nature," said Garcia.
He and his partner were able to locate the suspect down the street, who admitted he knew he was wrong for crapping in front of a church, but really had to go.
"He did admit to defecating in public. He acknowledged that his actions were wrong but I guess the urge got the most of him and he was unable to find an accessible restroom right away," said Riverview Police Chief Ron Beggs told Fox 2.
According to the chief, he's never seen a story quite like this one, but the guy's description matches that of "other reports from around the area."
"Basic decency tells us we don’t do that in public or on a busy road, on private property, especially church property, there's something that seems inherently more wrong about doing it on church property," said Beggs.
The pooper was taken into custody and cited for disorderly conduct.
