Private Island in the Bahamas is For Sale

The largest private island in the Bahamas, St. Andrews, also called “Little Ragged Island,” is up for sale to the highest bidder. It’s located 139 miles north of Cuba and 372 miles southeast of Miami.

According to Concierge Auctions:

The 730-acre undeveloped land is part of the 100-mile Ragged Island chain of inlets, and includes fresh spring drinking water, with access for swimming among the reefs. It’s also the largest private island in the Bahamas that is currently for sale.

I hope you like the color pink. The area features WILD Pink Flamingos and a colony of these birds can range into the thousands. They are also the national bird of the Bahamas.

This would be a perfect fit if you hate human contact and dislike elevation as the high point of Little Ragged Island is only 40 feet above sea level.

The nearest village and airport is Duncan Town and is located less than five miles away – about a 10 minute boat ride.

The island has NO buildings, only some stone walls, which were previously used for cow pastures.

It’s currently listed for $19.5 million and bidding opens March 26.

Apparently, in 2011, Shakira teamed up with Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd) and Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz to buy an island in the Bahamas called Bonds Cay.

Julia Roberts has always managed to stay rather private with personal details, but it's been rumored for quite some time that she has a $6 million island somewhere in the Bahamas.

Johnny Depp, Nicholas Cage, John Travolta, Eddie Murphy, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, David Copperfield, and Lenny Kravitz also own some private land in the Bahamas.
