Possible Record High Temperatures on Saturday Across Iowa

A bout of late-summer heat is going to blast over Iowa on Saturday, which could break record high temperatures all over the state.

The record high for September 11 in Waterloo is 99* set in 2000. Saturday's projected high is 92* in Black Hawk County, which would still put it in the Top 10 all-time high temps for that date.

It has only reached at least 90* on September 11th twelve times in the last 127 years in Waterloo.

The record high for 9/11 in Cedar Rapids is 96* set way back in 1931. The all-time high temperature for any day in September is a whopping 103* in 1925 for the City of Five Seasons.

Cedar Rapids averages around two days per year with days at/over 90* in September. Just 12 days of all September 11ths in the last 129 years reached at least 90*.
