Authorities are investigating a threat directed toward several Waterloo school buildings made by someone on social media.
In a press release, Waterloo police said officers are working with Waterloo School District officials in an effort to identify whoever is responsible for making the threat on Facebook Tuesday night. Authorities learned about the threat just before 6:45 PM.
A screen shot of the online threat was shared multiple times. The threat reads: “I’m blowing up east west and Carver and central tomorrow.”
Waterloo School District officials issued a text alert, notifying parents about the threat. In the message, they said: "We wanted you to know that we have turned over all of the images to police and they are currently investigating. As soon as we learn more info from authorities, we will let you know. Thank you for your patience."
