One Person Killed In Fiery Crash Near Grundy Center

One person was killed in a fiery one-vehicle accident in Grundy County early Sunday (Aug. 13, 2017).

The crash occurred shortly after 3 a.m. on Iowa Highway 14 about eight miles southwest of Grundy Center.

According to sheriff's officials, a northbound vehicle dropped off the highway's shoulder, struck a guardrail and cement culvert, then flipped. The vehicle landed on its wheels and caught fire.

Authorities said the driver died at the scene. The victim's name has been released.
