One Injured When Pick-Ups Collide In Grundy County

Grundy County sheriff's officials responded to a two-vehicle accident that left one of the drivers with minor injuries Thusday morning (Jan. 10, 2019).

The collision occurred just before 7:30 AM on Iowa Highway 14 ("N" Ave.) near 140th Street, about five miles south of Parkersburg. Authorities said a southbound pick-up crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming pick-up in the northbound lane.

Sheriff's officials identified the driver of the southbound pick-up as Billy Joe Winters, 50, of Marble Rock. The northbound pick-up was driven by Ryan Engelkes, 27, of Dike.

According to an accident report, Engelkes suffered minor injuries in the crash. He went to a nearby medical facility on his own to receive treatment.

The accident remains under investigation by Grundy County sheriff’s officials.
