A unidentified person was injured Tuesday in a Black Hawk County accident involving a tractor and semi with trailer.

Black Hawk County sheriff's officials said the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Waterloo hospital for treatment.

The crash happened just before 5 PM on Iowa Highway 281/North Canfield Road near Circle Drive north of Dunkerton.

Sheriff's officials said a preliminary investigation revealed that 33-year-old Christopher Rodger, no address given, was driving the tractor southbound on the highway. While attempting a turn onto Circle Drive, the tractor was hit from behind by the southbound semi with trailer.

Leon Heineman, the semi's driver, told deputies that he did did not see the slow-moving tractor in front of him until it was too late. After the collision, both vehicles ended up in the west ditch.
