One Dead, One Hurt In Shooting Near UNI Campus
Cedar Falls police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another injured near the University of Northern Iowa campus overnight.
Officers were called to the College Hill area on a report of shots fired around 12:45 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 11, 2017). After checking the area, police found a male gunshot victim in the 2300 block of Olive St and took him to an area hospital for treatment.
According to police, the victim died at the hospital. They identified him as Alex Bullerman, 18, of Waterloo.
About an hour later, authorities learned that a second gunshot victim had arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle. Police said Dylan Gehrke, 18, of Waterloo, was treated for a single gunshot wound and later released.
