Authorities have conducted a sting operation to arrest and charge a suspect, who allegedly stole a band instrument.

Charles City Police set up the sting late last week, and successfully recovered a stolen saxophone, worth about $1,200.

The sting was conducted in a parking lot in the 800 block of Kelly Street in Charles City around 2 PM Friday (Nov. 2, 2018).

As a result of the operation, Jason Moore, 36, of Charles City, was taken into custody. He is being charged with possession of stolen property worth over $1,000, which is a felony.

After the arrest, the saxophone was returned to it's rightful owner. The victim's name was not released.
