Man’s Last Paycheck Comes As 500lbs of Oil Soaked Pennies
A Georgia man expecting his last paycheck from a previous employer received it, just not in the form he had expected.
Andreas Flaten told WGCL-TV he turned in his two week notice at Walker Luxury Autoworks in Peachtree City, GA back in November. His boss had a negative reaction immediately.
"He gets up, puts his hands on his head, walks out the door and disappears for like an hour," Andreas said. At least you'd know you've been a valuable employee at that point.
He says he left the job because of a toxic work environment but was still owed $915. His boss, Miles Walker, said he'd receive it in January.
After it didn't show up, Andreas called the business to find out what was going on, and Miles accused him of damages he didn't have knowledge of.
So, Andreas went to the Georgia Department of Labor.
He said shortly after, the money showed up in the form of 500 pounds of oil-covered pennies that were dumped in his driveway overnight.
On top of the pile was a note that simply read "F*** YOU!"
Andreas' girlfriend posted a video to Instagram showing the disgusting pile of pennies in their driveway.
"I have nowhere to put them. I had no idea what I was going to do like how do I get money from pennies?" Andreas said.
Miles said he doesn't recall if he dumped the pennies on the driveway.
"It doesn't matter, he got paid, that's all that matters," he said.
Andreas is keeping the pennies in his garage until he can get them clean enough to cash them in at his bank.
