Louisiana Man Impersonating Officer Pulls Over Actual Cop

Man has been arrested after he claimed to be a police officer and ended up pulling over an off-duty sheriff's deputy.

Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon said 27-year-old Vincent Marks from Plaquemine, Florida, was booked into jail on June 28th on charges of false impersonation of a peace officer.

The charge is a felony charge, and his bond has been set at $10,000, according to WAFB.

Investigators of the incident say Marks was behind the off-duty deputy on LA 70 near Bayou Corne when he started flashing his headlights.

The deputy said he turned his car into a convenience store, and Marks not only pulled in behind him, but blocked his vehicle in as well.

Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office reported that Marks then showed the deputy a badge and said he was a police officer, but the deputy immediately recognized him from a domestic dispute he'd responded to in Pierre Part earlier this year. He couldn't remember the guy's name, but knew this 'officer' was not an officer.

The investigation turned up Marks' name as the fake cop and a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office.
