Man Allegedly Threatens to Kill People, Blow Up Airport Over $55 Baggage Charge

A man has been arrested after he allegedly threatened to blow up McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.

Police say 52-year-old Andrew Greco was arrested on Friday and faces one count of Making Threats or Conveying False Information Concerning Acts of Terrorism and one count of Communicating a Bomb Threat.

Officers said the threats made were non-specific, and Greco claimed to have prior military experience and would kill people in Las Vegas.

During an interview with the FBI, the report said Greco told authorities he made calls to the call center to try and dispute a $55 baggage charge, and only made the threats when they didn't give him what he wanted.

Agents searched his hotel room and vehicle and confiscated three phones and documents associated with Frontier Airlines. They said there is nothing that leads them to believe it's suspicious.

The McCarran Airport took safety measures in response to the alleged threats, even taking K-9's to search part of the airport looking for unattended bags. The security team increased patrols in the airport as well.

Greco is being held on $5,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is May 11.
