A good prediction for 2019.

"Faithful followers, there is no shadow of me and a beautiful spring it shall be" was the read aloud in Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney to a roar of crowed early Saturday morning.  Punxsutawney Phil has been the prognosticator of prognosticators every February 2nd on Groundhog Day.The tradition of Groundhog's Day started back in 1887. Of course if the goundhog sees his shadow it means 6 more weeks of winter. However, if the groundhog does NOT see his shadow (like in 2019) it predicts an early spring. That's the good news.

The bad news, however, is that the groundhog is rarely accurate. Within the past 10 years, the groundhog has seen his shadow 7 times and predicted an early spring 3 times. The groundhog has only been correct about 40% of the time which is just shy of a coin-flip. But really... is that much different than any other weather prediction?

On a lighter side, there was a good post out today as far as the iconic movie Groundhog Day. It said, "They should announce a sequel to Groundhog Day and then just re-release the original."
