Iowa's #1 Ice Cream Shop To Close 2023 Season With Car Show

It's sad to think that summer is coming to an end and the best place to get ice cream in eastern Iowa and the Quad Cities will be closing for the season. The good thing is that there is still enough time to enjoy their delicious ice cream.

Sweet Delite Ice Cream Shoppe (1901 W 4th St) in Davenport is closing up shop at the end of this month. To say "See you later", the owners are throwing a party filled with cool cars, fun activities, food trucks, and delicious ice cream.

Quad Cities #1 Ice Cream Shop Closing For The Season

Earlier this year, we asked you where the best place to get ice cream was in the Quad Cities. After two years of being at number one, Whitey's Ice Cream was dethroned by a little west-end shop called Sweet Delite.

Sweet Delite gained a lot of popularity are we published that list. By no surprise, when people tried Sweet Delite, they were instantly hooked.

After a great 2023 summer season, Sweet Delite is closing its doors for the winter on Saturday, September 30th. Don't worry, they'll reopen for the 2024 Summer season. But to close out this year, they are hosting a car show and cruise.

Sweet Delite Ice Cream Car Show Cruise In

Join Sweet Delite and all the folks bringing their awesome cars out for their Car Show Cruise In event on Saturday, Sept. 30th.

The fun begins at 3 p.m. with games, bounce houses, and fun for all ages. Sweet Delite will also be giving away door prizes and having a 50/50 raffle.

El Mariachi and Coffee Oasis will be bringing their food and coffee trucks to this event to serve those who are hungry and in need of an energy boost.

If you have an awesome car to show off, feel free to bring it. You'll be able to park to show it off and cruise up and down 3rd and 4th streets in Davenport. Plus, there will be live music from 6-9 p.m. by the Flatbed Four.

Hidden Pizza Gem 1 Hour Outside The Quad Cities

Having the best pizza in the Quad Cities has always been a fierce competition. I mean we even have our own version of pizza for goodness sake. While there are some incredible pizza joints in the Quad Cities, there are other pizza places that you need to visit. Geno's Pizza in Preston, IA is one of those places. It's less than an hour's drive from the Quad Cities and it's a spot you need to try.

Ghost In Our Iowa Basement?

As a radio station, we have a lot of people here who have seen some scary stuff. Do you see any ghosts in these photos? I can't, but I also don't know what to look for.

This Isn't The First Face Caught On Camera Here!

In September of 2020 the band "Pit Lord" came to the building to shoot a music video. They shot it in the basement and for a split second in the recording, you can make out a face of what looks to be a woman. You can see that video here.

With a history of ghosts, it's safe to say the basement of our building is CREEPY!
