Iowa Gets Spooky At Bloomsbury Farm’s Scream Acres

No matter how many times I say it, it never changes; fall is the best season. Crisp cool air. Football. Bon fires. Pumpkin everything. And... Haunted Houses. Yes, it's officially time to get your spook on and Bloomsbury Farm has the perfect opportunity to do just that at an amazing October attraction called Scream Acres in Atkins, Iowa.

Here's the deal, we all like to get a little scared, but Scream Acres is no joke. Once inside the attraction, you will be subjected to audio and lighting effects, low visibility, strobe lights, water, and fog. You should not enter if you are pregnant, are claustrophobic, are prone to seizures, or have heart and/or respiratory problems. Now with that out of the way lets get to the haunting! Scream Acres at Bloomsbury Farm offers up 4 incredibly creepy haunts for the brave... or stupid (usually it's the incredibly brave dragging the stupid through).

What are the attractions at Bloomsbury Farms Scream Acres?

1) 3d Sinister Silo

Welcome to the Carnival in this 2,800 square foot haunt! Not for the faint of heart; this terrifying adventure blurs the lines between reality and nightmares. You'll be lead through a maze of possibilities, but be careful which path you choose. You never know who might jump out at you in this 3d scare silo! Decide for yourself what is real and what is a delusion.

2) Cell Block Z

It’s officially the zombie apocalypse. These undead creatures have taken over a prison and you’re stuck inside. These zombies are hungry for flesh. Don’t make a sound. Be careful. And RUN. Can you make it out alive, or will Cell Block Z claim you?

3) The Slaughterhouse

It was once a home; now it's a prison for all that enter. The spirits of the dead are trapped inside. Not to mention, the cause of their gruesome fate awaits you as well. Take the hidden passageways and you might be able to escape the same fate as those imprisoned. Be careful, and watch your back. Can you escape before he finds you?

4) Haunted Cornfield

Are you brave enough for this fan-favorite experience? Navigate your way through the twists and turns of this horrifying corn maze. But beware and keep your wits about you because creatures of the night are lurking just around the corner. They’re coming for you. The darkness is the last thing you should be afraid of. Are you up for the challenge?

Additionally, park entertainment is around every corner at Bloomsbury Farm. You can explore the haunted grounds and be wowed by entertaining performances as you prepare to enter their haunted attractions. Keep an eye out for devilish clowns, zombies, and the slaughterer. There is also food available and the Glass Alley Beer Garden to enjoy. Guests 21 and older can grab an ice-cold drink in our spacious outdoor courtyard and compete in fun yard games. Sip a drink with friends while you wait for the horror to begin.

Scream Acres is open rain or shine with 3 indoor haunts available. Gates close at 10pm each open night, and attendees are guaranteed to get through all 4 haunts if they are admitted into the park. Plan to come early to secure your spot before they reach their attendance cap for the night! Scream Acres is recommended for ages 12 and up. Enter at your own risk. All participants under 16 must have a chaperone. And remember, you will not be admitted to Scream Acres Haunted Attraction if you appear intoxicated. Smoking, drinking, eating, open flame, photography, and videography is prohibited at all times inside the attraction. Do not touch the props or actors!
