Who Has Iowa’s Best Pork Tenderloin Sandwich?
There are few things that are more 'Iowa' than a big, fat, juicy, pork tenderloin. A meal so big that you'd need at least two buns to finish one. Many restaurants claim to have the best tenderloin around. But where in Iowa do you go to find the best tenderloin?
Now is the time to let your voice be heard! The Iowa Pork Producers are kicking off their 21st annual Iowa's Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin contest. Have a tenderloin that you absolutely love? Now is the time to nominate your favorite restaurant. Nominations are being accepted online now through June 5th with the winning restaurant announced in October. To be named 'Best Tenderloin in Iowa' is a badge of honor. A title that will be remembered forever. And an award that is guaranteed to sell more tenderloins!
In a press release, the Iowa Pork Producers outline how the contest works. The first round of voting lets the public weighs in with their favorite spot to grab a tenderloin. Nominations are limited to one per person so make it count! After the nomination period is over, the IPPA's Restaurant and Food Service Committee will review 40 restaurants including the five restaurants with the most nominations from eight state districts. Then, a secret panel of judges will visit the locations and rank the tenderloins based on quality of pork, taste, physical characteristics, and overall eating experience. The five finalists and finally the winner will be announced in October.
