Iowa Hawkeye fans are basking in the glow of something special. Something that has never been done at Iowa before. The Iowa Hawkeye women's basketball team has made it to back-to-back Final Fours! While many believe that this is the ultimate accomplishment of the Caitlin Clark era, I'm not so sure these Hawkeyes are done dancing quite yet.

The game lived up to the hype. Iowa and LSU played great basketball in last night's Regional Final in Albany. It was a shame this matchup wasn't a few games later in the tournament. When the spotlight shines the brightest, Caitlin Clark shines too. The Hawkeye senior added to her legendary career with a stat line of 41 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds as Iowa bounced LSU 94-87. Kate Martin had 21 big points and Sydney Affolter added 16 points for the Hawkeyes who are back in the Final Four.

For the second straight year, this Iowa team has reached the Final Four and knocked off the defending National Champions. Not a bad run. I'll admit that I was nervous for last night's game. I thought LSU's athleticism would be too much for this Iowa team. Coach Lisa Bluder and the Iowa staff once again proved me wrong, with another winning game plan.

If last year's Iowa team was the darlings of the NCAA Tournament, this year's team feels a lot like a team of destiny. Caitlin Clark has seemingly shifted into 'championship mode' and the rest of the Hawkeyes are playing their hearts out. Why can't Iowa top UConn on Friday night in Cleveland? You don't think South Carolina would be nervous to take on this Iowa team for a National Championship? I guarantee they remember what the Hawkeyes did to them in 2023. I am done doubting what this team can do!

After last night's huge win, amid the celebration on the court, Caitlin Clark laid down amidst the confetti, hands over her head, having a quiet moment to herself. Those moments have been few and far between during this year's Final Four run. Clark told ESPN that she was soaking in the moment, saying "My career is almost over." The greatest Hawkeye ever has given us so many wonderful memories to remember for a lifetime. Something tells me she isn't finished quite yet.
