An array of 77 Christmas trees and 84,000 Christmas lights adorn the White House in Washington, D.C. this holiday season, and an Iowa woman had a hand in creating all the magic!

In recent years, I've lost touch with the energy to decorate my own living space, let alone one that's a window to the world. But a former interior designer from the Central Iowa town of Beaverdale, Cheri Hill had just that experience recently, and she told KCCI-TV, it was the experience of a lifetime. She was assigned to 14 of those 77 Christmas trees, and thousands of ornaments at the Grand Foyer and Cross Hall.

Besides contributing to the majesty of one of the world's most important buildings, Hill got a special message from the First Lady, Jill Biden herself.

She really appreciated the volunteer work we did and gave us so much credit for it, which felt really good

Hill now gets to carry the memories of working with 150 other volunteers, with whom she was sure to create some lifelong bonds in the midst of their holiday project together, she used some of the mementos she left with to create her own personal centerpiece for Christmas at home.

A beautiful sight and a magical experience, for sure.
