Iowa’s Favorite Vegetable Is…

My favorite vegetables are French fries, Corn Pops, and ketchup. And apparently that makes ME the weird one?!

Our winner was BROCCOLI

And, in a landslide, it was also voted most popular in the United States overall.

People in 38 of the 50 states voted for broccoli as their favorite vegetable. But what gives? This is a corn state, no? Well, Corn came in second and it won seven states. Just not Iowa. Carrots were a distant third place, with two only states.

There are also three vegetables that won just one state: Alaska picked asparagus. Montana picked cauliflower, and Arkansas picked potatoes. That's right, Idaho didn't even pick potatoes they went with broccoli...

So there you have it kids, eat up! As a kids, my grandma called broccoli 'little trees' to get me to eat it. In retrospect, that seems like something Smokey The Bear would be opposed to.
