It was one of the greatest, most unlikely comebacks in Iowa basketball history Sunday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Iowa trailed Northwestern by 15 points, 72-57, with 4:30 to go. Then the magic started. Iowa would score its next five points on free throws from Tyler Cook, Joe Wieskamp, and Jordan Bohannon. After that, it turned into the Wieskamp and Bohannon show. From the 2:54 mark, where Iowa trailed 74-62, Isaiah Moss would score two points, Wiescamp would net five, and Bohannon would score 11. Bohannon scored 15, all of them in the last 4:43 of the game.

What's perhaps most remarkable of all about this game is that Luka Garza and Ryan Kriener combined for three points and one rebound, yet Iowa found a way to win. Freshman phenom Joe Wieskamp's 21 points led the way for Iowa. Tyler Cook scored 19 and pulled down 11 rebounds, and Isaiah Moss had 16 points.

The Hawks played an ugly game most of the way, struggling to find a rhythm during the 5:30 p.m. Sunday tip-off. That Iowa crowd stayed in it. Any time the Hawks looked like they might be turning a corner, the crowd roared. They didn't give up, and neither did the Hawks. Yes, it's easy to give the MVP from a game last night to Bohannon, because of his heroics down the stretch but Cook and Wieskamp are deserving too. And we should give an MVP to the Iowa crowd too. Without them, I don't believe that comeback would have ever happened.
