Iowa Now Has More Than 1,000 Cases
The number of Iowans who have tested positive for the coronavirus is now more than 1,000.
State public health officials reported Tuesday another 102 confirmed cases of COVID-19, raising the number to 1,048 since testing began in Iowa March 7.
Gov. Kim Reynolds announced one additional death, a Benton County adult was over the age of 81. According to state health officials, 26 Iowans have died from the virus and 104 people reamin hospitalized with symptoms of COVID-19. The numbers also show that 341 Iowans who tested positive for the coronavirus have recovered.
The virus is now present in 78 of Iowa's 99 counties, with Buena Vista and Delaware recording their first cases. Health officials said the Buena Vista County case involves an adult between the ages of 41 and 60 and the Delaware County case involves an adult between the ages of 61 and 80.
Black Hawk County recorded three new cases, all adults between the ages of 18 and 40. Tama County tallied six additional cases, three adults between the ages of 61 and 80 and three adults over the age of 81.
Tuesday's figures also showed two new cases in Marshall County, both adults between the ages of 18 and 40. Benton County also had one new case, an adult between the ages of 41 and 60.

- Henry County: 1 child (0-17 years), 1 adult (18-40 years), 2 middle-age adults (41-60 years)
- Johnson County: 10 adults (18-40 years), 4 middle-age adults (41-60 years), 1 older adult (61-80 years), 1 elderly adult (81+)
- Linn County: 4 adults (18-40 years), 5 middle-age adults (41-60 years), 2 older adults (61-80 years)
- Louisa County: 7 adults (18-40 years), 3 middle-age adults (41-60 years), 3 older adults (61-80 years)
- Mahaska County: 1 middle-age adult (41-60 years)
- Marion County: 1 adult (18-40 years)
- Marshall County: 2 adults (18-40 years)
- Muscatine County: 2 children (0-17 years), 3 adults (18-40 years), 3 middle-age adults (41-60 years), 2 older adults (61-80 years)
- Polk County: 1 adult (18-40 years), 1 older adult (61-80 years)
- Pottawattamie County: 1 middle-age adult (41-60 years)
- Scott County: 6 adults (18-40 years), 5 middle-age adults (41-60 years), 3 older adults (61-80 years)

To date, 11,670 people have tested negative for the virus in Iowa, including 1,017 in the past 24 hours.
