Iowa Man Fires Gun 20 Times When Minor Refuses To Perform Sex Acts

There are some things that happen in this world that we just can't make up.

The folks of Jefferson, Iowa, a small town of about 4,000 people just over an hour northwest of Des Moines, now know that full well.

According to KCCI, a city employee in Jefferson is being charged with "assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, intimidation with a dangerous weapon to injure or provoke, false imprisonment, reckless use of a firearm, and prostitution."

This is all after he "allegedly fired a weapon in the direction of three juvenile girls after one refused to perform a sex act, according to the Greene County Sheriff's Office."

The man, 28-year-old Micheal Teeples, approached three underage girls who were parked in a vehicle at Henderson Park and asked one of them to perform oral sex on him in exchange for money. The Jefferson Herald added that the amount he offered was $80.

Once the girl refused, he threatened all three by allegedly brandishing a black handgun, later identified as a Beretta APX 9mm. He also threatened to shoot the tires out of their car if they tried to leave the park.

The Herald continues: "He then physically reached inside the car which the juveniles resided, allegedly grabbing hold of two of the youth in the front. He then fired off 'three or four rounds' of ammo next to the car before the juveniles left, according to court documents.

None of the victims involved were injured during the encounter."

He fired the weapon in the girls' general direction later as well, discharging 20 rounds toward the Raccoon River, according to police.

The Herald added that "Criminal reports suggest the juveniles could smell alcohol on his person when they approached and he also appeared inebriated," and that "he was arrested at 2:25 AM on Tuesday morning."

Teeples was an employee of the city of Jefferson, where he is a water operator. As of today, May 10, his employment was discontinued by the city. He has been booked into Greene County Jail in Jefferson.

The Greene County Sheriff's office obtained a warrant and searched his home at 702 South Wilson Street. KCCI adds that "The weapon used earlier at Henderson Park was seized along with other evidence related to the case."
